Stocktake Saturday 1 – 2014

January 11, 2014 Stocktake Saturday 5

Welcome to Stocktake Saturday! This feature is where I share some bookish news with you and then show you all the bookish goodies I’ve gotten since I last posted.

The cover reveals during the holiday break – (links to Goodreads pages)

In Bookish News, there’s going to be a sequel to The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffeneger! The book was released for the first time in e-book format on Sept. 23 and this version includes 25 pages of an upcoming sequel to the novel by Niffeneger, which focusses on Alba, Henry and Clare’s daughter. There’s no title or release date yet, but I’m at just about maximum excitement already.

Are you excited for Traitor’s Blade by Sebastien De Castell? Well you should be! The cover art and synopsis have been revealed for this amazing looking 2014 début, releasing 6th March 2014 by Jo Fletcher Books (my favourite adult imprint evah!). The cover is above, and the synopsis follows. Get excited people!

Falcio is the first Cantor of the Greatcoats. Trained in the fighting arts and the laws of Tristia, the Greatcoats are travelling Magisters upholding King’s Law. They are heroes. Or at least they were, until they stood aside while the Dukes took the kingdom, and impaled their King’s head on a spike. Now Tristia is on the verge of collapse and the barbarians are sniffing at the borders. The Dukes bring chaos to the land, while the Greatcoats are scattered far and wide, reviled as traitors, their legendary coats in tatters. All they have left are the promises they made to King Paelis, to carry out one final mission. But if they have any hope of fulfilling the King’s dream, the divided Greatcoats must reunite, or they will also have to stand aside as they watch their world burn …

The books I reviewed over my holiday “break”:

My book hauls, beginning as usual with the physical copies, thanks to Text Publishing, Bloomsbury AU, Jo Fletcher Books, Penguin Books AU and HarperCollins AU( links to Goodreads):

And e-galleys from Netgalley and Edelweiss:

That’s the end of the first Stocktake Saturday of 2014!

I hope you have some goodies to share as well, leave your links below and I’ll be sure to visit 🙂

Happy Reading!

The review will be up sometime February, if all goes to plan! I did a happy dance when I was approved for it and Gospel of Loki.

Yay! Stocktake Saturday is back :)I haven’t done a post about it, but I won a hardcover copy of The Fault In Our Stars so I’ll be finally able to read it. I also won my first ever Goodreads giveaway, winning the Grass Castle by Aussie Karen Viggers which I’ll review for the AWW challenge 2014.

I just added The Boy With The Porcelain Blade to my Goodreads, and The Castle Behind The Thorns. I already had A Breath of Frost and Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow on my to-read list 🙂

Hahah, I’m so glad SS being back is exciting for you – it’s nice to know someone reads them! Thank you 😀

I still haven’t read TFIOS. I’m so bad! I even have the pretty Aussie hardcover, SIGNED. I don’t know … I’m avoiding it because everyone says the feels will kill me, and I’m rarely in the mood for a book like that. But I want to read it, definitely.

I hadn’t ever heard of Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow until it turned up – it looks awesome! The Castle Behind Thorns is going to be great (I’m hoping).

I am OVERJOYED that The Book of Life finally has a cover. I’ve been dying for this book to come out but since it was pushed back before I was so scared it might be even longer, now that the cover is out I’m getting even more excited!!!!

I cannot believe there will be a secret of The Time Traveler’s Wife! I cannot wait. I loved that book, I cried and cried and cried so it might be time for a reread soon with a sequel. WHOOO!!!

Amazing that you got On The Fence! I love Kasie West so this is a definite must read for me. Can’t wait to see your review with Kasie West, she is such an amazing author! AND breath of frost, I need to read that asap. It sounds fantastic and the cover… wow, gorgeous!

I hope you enjoy all your books and thanks for sharing the book news 🙂 I am elated to know about that sequel!!!
