Remember the Goosebumps Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books? You'd read them and at the end of every chapter you had to make choices: to go inside the creepy dark tunnel or not, to investigate the noise coming from downstairs or not, to split up from your best-friend to cover more ground at the haunted carnival or not. Sam Bowring has written a book in a similar format for ADULTS, and I think it's superb!

Twelve by T.M. Franklin

Twelve rounds out Ava’s journey admirably, and although I am sad to let her go, I have enjoyed every moment of my time with her and Caleb. This is the kind of paranormal fantasy I love to read, and I’ll be looking out for Franklin’s future works with great interest.

The Bone Whistle closes out the adventure that started six years ago with Darcy and her five friends stumbling into another world. It’s a bittersweet conclusion to their story and I enjoyed it a lot.

I picked this up because it’s written by a prominent YA author (and one of my favourite YA authors, at that), and I’ve enjoyed reading it a lot! We should keep in mind that Friel wrote this book in ten days – which makes this accomplishment all the more amazing….

A surprisingly complex novel, More is a well crafted début which defies everything you thought you knew about paranormal romance. I enjoyed it immensely, especially since I was initially a little wary, and am making plans to read the sequel. “I think that essentially, we’re human,” he said after a…

This is the fifth book in the Gateway Chronicles, and as expected, sets us up for what is bound to be an amazing and action-packed conclusion. This novel is undoubtedly darker than the others, and our favourite characters are tested to their limits. Darcy, the main protagonist, and I have…

This version the book is an extended new adult edition of the YA release Ember, but I found the new parts clumsy and ultimately unnecessary. Which is not to say that I think I would have enjoyed the original YA version much better – this book has a premise that has…

Keir is Pippa Jay’s first published novel, and I am hoping she’s got more in store for us because I really liked it! Spunky and fun, the book follows Keir and Quin on an exciting planet-hopping adventure as they hunt down Quin’s ancient enemies and investigate Keir’s mysterious past. Keir…
