Welcome to Stocktake Saturday! This feature is where I share some bookish news with you and then show you all the bookish goodies I got over the week.
The cover reveals from the last week – (links to Goodreads pages)

In Bookish News, a new YA epic fantasy series by Susan Dennard will be published by Tor UK in 2015. The first book is called Truthwitch, and the series has been pitched as “Garth Nix meets Avatar: The Last Airbender”. From Publisher’s Weekly – The series is set in a world where three empires rule and every member of the population is born with a magical skill set, known as a “witchery.” Tor elaborated: “Now, as the Twenty Year Truce in a centuries-long war is about to end, the balance of power will fall on the shoulders of two young women, who must accept their fate, and themselves, to survive.”
Tor has also signed a three book deal with Robert Brockway for The Unnoticeables, and two currently untitled sequels. From Publisher’s Weekly – Tor said the books are “hilarious urban fantasy novels” set in a world that pulls from New York’s punk scene in the 1970s as well as the modern-day Los Angeles entertainment industry. The Unnoticeables is tentatively scheduled for July 2015.
Sarah Alderson (Hunting Lila, Fated, The Sound) will be publishing her first New Adult novel under the pen name Mila Gay in June! It will be called Come Back to Me and is about “a summer romance that quickly develops into a passionate love affair.”
Two exciting book titles have come to my attention this week, but you may already know about them 🙂 The first book of Jamie McGuire’s The Maddox Brothers series will be called Beautiful Oblivion. It’ll be about Trenton Maddox, and be available in July. The fourth book in Maria V. Snyder’s Study series will be called Shadow Study, expected publication in 2015.
This week’s reviews:

- [12 Mar] Traitor's Blade by Sebastien de Castell ★★★★½
- [13 Mar] Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi ½
- [14 Mar] Broken by Marianne Curley ★★★★
As you can see, I’ve introduced ratings!! All the 2014 reviews have ratings out of 5 now, I can’t go back and do four year’s worth, but hopefully going forward there will always be a rating on my reviews. The ratings are cute owl graphics on the actual review posts, here they all are so you can see them.

The owls are so so so adorable :)I love how they all have different expressions.
I love reading that another YA epic fantasy has sold since I am working on one myself. Truthwitch sounds interesting.
Enmity is a read I am looking forward to. And how amazing does the winner’s curse sound? Want it!
The cover of Bellman and Black really intrigues me, but I think it might be a little too creepy for me.
Thanks for another great Stocktake Saturday.

I’m so happy I got The Winner’s Curse – seeing everyone rave about it has made me very curious! Also, I’m eager to read Bellman and Black, I think it’ll be pretty cool! I’ll let you know 🙂

Still looooooove the owls! A particular tee hee at the DNF one.
Shaheen
😀 That one was fun!

Aww, I want an owl, can I keep one?
Incredible haul, but The Forever Song, I’ve got a case of severe book envy. I applied, but will probably be knocked back. I’ll have to live vicariously through you, so I demand you begin this at once ·cracks whip·
Shaheen
Haha. No no my owls. Mine.
I’m also super excited about TFS 😀

The Girl With All the Gifts = AMAZING.

Honestly, I wasn’t too interested in it until I saw you rave about it. Saw it at Big W (weeks later, yes) and bought it 🙂
