In Bookish News, Maggie Steifvater has written a companion novel to her Wolves of Mercy Falls series! Scholastic will publish Sinner in July 2014. It will be set after the original trilogy, and follow Cole and Isabel. Maggie’s blogged about it here.
Australian REJOICE – Meagan Spooner is coming to visit us at the end of November for the launch of These Broken Stars. She’ll be in Melbourne, so people who can go (not me) will be able Meagan and Amie! Read the announcement here.
Michael Grant has written an e-short called BZRK: ORIGINS that tells us how his BZRK series began. Grab it now!
J. K. Rowling will be making her screenwriting début – she’s writing a series of Harry Potter spin-off movies. The first book will be called Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them; based on the textbook, of the same name that Harry and his friends use at Hogwarts, and featuring it’s fictitious author Newt Scamander.
The book trailer for Empower, the fifth and final book in Jessica Shirvington’s The Violet Eden Chapters, was released this week. Check out the awesome below!
Amazing!
This week I’ve been Waiting on … The Broken Eye by Brent Weeks. Rosie Best, author of the upcoming début novel (via Strange Chemistry) came by to tell us Five Things we didn’t know about Meg Banks, and I was also part of the global announcement of the amazing Grey Griffins Anthology Kickstater program, in which acclaimed authors like Shannon Messenger and Aprillyne Pike will write short stories to help raise funds for Breast Cancer and to get kids reading.

My book hauls, beginning as usual with the physical copies, thanks to Scholastic AU, Amy McCulloch (via HarperCollins UK), Hachette AU, Random House AU and Hachette Children’s Books AU (links to Goodreads):
- Battle Magic (The Circle Reforged #3) by Tamora Pierce
- The Oathbreaker’s Shadow (The Knots Sequence #1) by Amy McCulloch
- A Dance of Cloaks (Shadowdance #1) by David Dalglish
- The Royal Ranger (Ranger’s Apprentice #12) by John Flanagan – This is will be an October AU only giveaway, I think
- The Uprising (The Forsaken #2) by Lisa M. Stasse
- Memory by Christoph Marzi
- United We Spy (Gallagher Girls #6) by Ally Carter

And e-galleys from Netgalley and Edelweiss:
- Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge – HarperCollins US (Balzer + Bray)

Last time I was four books ahead in my Read Three, Buy One scheme, with one book purchase unlocked, and this week I bought one book –
- Revolution 19 (Revolution 19 #1) by Gregg Rosenblum – to read before I read Fugitive X, which I got for review a few weeks ago.

I reviewed the following books this week:
- All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill
- Don’t Judge a Girl by her Cover by Ally Carter
- ‘Til The World Ends by Julie Kagawa, Ann Aguirre and Karen Duvall
Which leaves me 4 books ahead and with one book purchase unlocked.
I hope you have some goodies to share as well, leave your links below and I’ll be sure to visit 🙂
Happy Reading!
