This is out in paperback already? Someone mentioned a while ago that it wasn’t due out until late January, so I’ve been holding off. I absolutely LOVE this series, book one was a bit shaky, but book two absolutely blew me away. The series has been so much more than I had anticipated. Thanks for the brilliant giveaway Shaheen, are you up to the finale too?

Some of this is unconfirmed, but the UK paperback was meant to be released here in late November, but it was late. Last I heard it was due in this week, so I’m running the giveaway this week, and then I’ll see what happens when the giveaway is over. I’ve seen one Australian get a paperback copy for review, so I’m ASSUMING it has come into the warehouse, and that it will make it’s way into stores soon … but I don’t really know hehehe.

I’ve got totally the opposite reactions to the series: I like book 1 (but not the sickly sweet romance) but didn’t like the direction book 2 took, especially because I felt desensitised by all the (in my opinion) over-done horror movie tropes.

I also have many strong and loud opinions on the characterisation of Mara Dyer as someone with Indian heritage that she a) doesn’t really embrace and b) doesn’t seem to care about until it’s necessary for the plot line, coupled with her insistence that she *doesn’t present* as someone with Indian heritage (unlike her brothers) and the penchant for YA to shy away from protagonists who aren’t white and instead cast half-white/quarter-white characters for their ‘exoticness’ rather than exploring the real and varied issues that first and second generation children of mixed or ‘ethnic’ heritage face growing up in a ‘Western’ country, are angry making. *sighs* That was a very long sentence.

But I am looking forward (very much) to book three: I want to know what the hell is going on lol.
