Burn by Paula Weston

What a glorious way to end off one of the best angel-themed paranormal series I've ever read! Burn is everything I expected from the final instalment of The Rephaim, a brilliantly plotted novel where action, romance, and intrigue come together to create magic.

I say this in every review I write for this series, but it's true -- I can't believe how much has happened since Gaby met Rafa eleven days ago. Gaby went from thinking she's a teenaged backpacker who recently lost her twin brother in an accident to finding out she's a hundred and thirty-nine, and a Rephaite...

I liked The Heir, I think it takes the idea of The Selection and does something new and different with it. I liked getting to know Eadlyn and her siblings, and seeing all my old(er) favourites from the original series.

The last instalment of Ellie Marney’s Every series has left me conflicted and sad. Although it’s hard to say good-bye to Mycroft and Watts, it’s probably for the best because I didn’t really like the way this book turned out.

Firefight is a wonderful sequel to the heart-stopping Steelheart, delivering all the action, adventure, and fun that readers will expect. It’s an explosive adventure that captured my imagination, and has left me sad that I have to wait so long for the next instalment, Calamity.

Girl Online by Zoe Sugg

Girl Online is a light and fluffy story about a teen girl with an anonymous online blog. I was attracted to it because I ALSO HAVE A BLOG, and I thought there’d be all these amazing moments of connection with Penny. However, Girl Online has a very slow and shaky beginning, and although it does improve eventually, it’s not really the kind of book that I enjoy.

I never thought I’d sympathise with Levana. She’s been this amorphous blob of evil in The Lunar Chronicles for three books, and although I never doubted that her past would make an interesting story, I certainly didn’t think it would make me understand her.
