North Star Guide Me Home by Jo Spurrier

North Star Guide Me Home by Jo Spurrier

Reviews 3 ★★★★★

I always get sad when I finish a series, and I've loved Jo Spurrier's Children of the Black Sun ever since I read the first book, Winter Be My Shield, so reading this book has been an emotional experience.

Our beloved characters have come through a lot in the earlier books, but that's not stopping Spurrier from really sticking it to them in North Star Guide Me Home. This is a heart-wrenching book. It's full of passion and love, and copious amounts of heartbreak, some great sacrifices and a lot of pain and blood. I feel the darkness in the story...

The Elite by Kiera Cass

The Elite by Kiera Cass

I enjoyed The Elite significantly more than The Selection because I knew what I was getting myself into this time – a love triangle with a sprinkle of dystopia and intrigue. I was still disappointed that the author didn’t choose to delve into the rebellion, however, and the lack of growth in America’s character really frustrated me.

I’m reading this long, long after I’ve read Unravel Me, which I think is both a positive and a negative. A positive because I’m not hankering to know what happens next, but a negative because the experience of reading Unravel Me would have been richer for knowing what this novella…

West has followed up her incredible début Pivot Point with a thrilling sequel in Split Second, which picks up a few weeks after Addie makes her life-changing decision to stay with her mother instead of leaving the Compound where all paranormally gifted people live, hidden from the Norms. A recap:…
