Stocktake Saturday 16

August 18, 2012 Stocktake Saturday 1

Welcome to Stocktake Saturday! This feature is where I share some news with you and then show you all the bookish goodies I got over the week.

As usual, first up we have the new covers from this week: (links to Goodreads)

  • Sister Assassin by Kiersten White – This book is being released in the US/CAN markets as Mind Games, and in the UK/AU/NZ markets as Sister Assassin. I have included the covers for both so you can compare and contrast!
  • The Impossibility of Tomorrow (Incarnate #2) by Avery Williams – the cover of the second book of the series has been revealed, along with a matching cover for the paperback edition of the first book.
  • Wicked Kiss (Nightwatchers #2) by Michelle Rowen – I love the colours on this, but I’m not convinced on how the model is posed.
  • Perception by Lee Strauss- I helped with the cover reveal of thus new Sci-Fi novel – it sounds mighty interesting 🙂

The website for Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter has been revealed – click here to be taken to it! The website features information on the characters, wallpapers for your computer, social networking banners and backgrounds, and fabulous contests.

Aimee Carter still needs 5 000 Twitter followers to release that scene from Goddess Interrupted written from Henry’s point of view so please, head on over to Aimee’s Twitter page to follow her!

To celebrate Adrian’s epic win over Will in the YA Crush Tourney, Richelle Mead has released a bunch of teasers from The Indigo Spell. You can read them all here.

As you can see above, Kiersten White has announced the publication of Sister Assassin in the UK, AU and NZ markets – it will have the same release date as the US version, Mind Games, so we won’t have to wait longer for it. In fact, NZ and AU readers will get their copies early because of the time difference!

Simon and Schuster AU have announced via Twitter that the Australian and New Zealand editions of Finale by Becca Fitzpatrick will have bonus content in them!

Jennifer L. Armentrout celebrated the release of her second Lux novel, Onyx, this week, and posted up a few pictures from what I think is the trailer shoot for either Onyx or Opal. You can see them all hereOnyx has a Daemon POV scene, entitled Do This The Right Way, and let me tell you, it’s hot! Also, the last two books in the series (which are currently untitled) are in dual POVs (Daemon and Katy).

The last thing I want to share with you is not really news, as such, but lately I’ve been seeing a lot of titles being revealed of some anticipated sequels so I thought I’d make a list of them. The list of YA novels that follows is not complete, but includes all the books that I really want. I’ll have a similar list next week for non-YA books. The links, as usual, go to Goodreads, and I have made a note on whether a cover is available or not so you can keep track!

This week I am Waiting On … The Blinding Knife by Brent Weeks, and I had the Blood of Anteros (The Vampire Agápe #1) blog tour stop by! Next week I will post up a review of Blood Jewel (The Vampire Agápe #2) for the book’s blog tour. I also posted a cover reveal this week: Perception by Lee Strauss, which includes the first chapter of the book!

I received the following books: (links to Goodreads pages)

I am still seven books behind on my book buying quota: Read Three, By One but two pre-orders came in this week!

  1. Touch (Denazen, #1) by Jus Accardo
  2. Onyx (Lux #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout – already read it, it’s amazing, watch out for my review on Monday!
If you missed any of the awesome books I reviewed this week, here are the links:

That leaves me in dire strife – nine books behind. On the plus side I haven’t been buying new books, these are all pre-orders coming in, but they’re still making me look bad! That’s the end of my book haul for the week. I hope you have some goodies to share as well, leave your links below and I’ll be sure to visit 🙂

Happy Reading!

It’s funny when publishers not only change the cover but also the title, I often wonder about the reasoning, but I do like both covers of Mind Games/Sister Assassins.
