Stocktake Saturday 30

November 24, 2012 Stocktake Saturday 4

Welcome to Stocktake Saturday! This feature is where I share some news with you and then show you all the bookish goodies I got over the week.

This week’s cover reveals (links to Goodreads pages):

  • The Daylight War (Demon Cycle #3) by Peter V. Brett – US cover. If the UK/AU covers follow the trends of the previous books, they will use the same image, but use the curvy font from books 1 and 2.

In Bookish News this week, we have had some awesome book and movie trailers made available:

Patrick Ness has announced that More Than This, his new YA novel, will be released simultaneously in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and the US in September 2013.

I have been plugging Aimée Carter’s Twitter for ages now, because she promised to release the “Window Room” (or “Observatory Room”) scene from Henry’s point of view when she reached 5 000 followers. And she did it! So now we get to read my (and everyone else’s) favourite scene from Goddess Interrupted from Henry’s POV. Click here to be taken to this awesome scene.

And the last thing I have to share with you is more for fun: a dedicated fan has stitched together every movie trailer for The Hobbit into (roughly) chronological order. It’s amazing, and I can’t wait for the movie to come out!!

This week I am Waiting on … Scarlet by Marissa Meyer and I received the following books for review: (links to Goodreads pages)

  • Dragon Age: Those Who Speak by David Gaider – this is a the second in a series of graphic novels set in the world of the award-winning (and fun to play) games. I have reviewed The Silent Grove previously.
  • The Culling (The Torch Keeper #1) by Steven dos Santos – this book is going to kick off the 2013 Debut Author Challenge in January!
  • The Farm (The Farm #1) by Emily McKay
  • This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers
  • The Skeleton Key (Pandora English #3) by Tara Moss – I got the previous two books of the series last week, so I’m excited to be able to read them back-to-back-to-back.
  • Hot Blooded (Wolf Springs Chronicles #2) by Nancy Holder & Debbie Viguié – I have an excuse to read the first book now, which has been sitting on my shelf since it’s release day.

I ended last week on par with my Read Three, Buy One scheme and didn’t buy any books this week, so I’ll be racking up book purchases again. This week I only reviewed two books though – I’ve been re-reading a few of my favourites.

  1. Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor
  2. Angel Arias by Marianne de Pierres

I’m two books ahead, but haven’t unlocked a book purchase yet. Shame, there is so much I want!

I hope you have some goodies to share as well, leave your links below and I’ll be sure to visit 🙂

Happy Reading!

I am looking forward to buying The Skeleton Key. But heads up, it’s not the kind of series you need to read back to back; they’re pretty self-contained (unlike Burn Bright, sigh).

    Yay, books!

What an exciting bookish week! I can’t wait to get into the Lux series so I can watch the trailers, read reviews & everything else! Congrats on your haul this week as well, they’re all new ones for me (except This is Not a Test) but they all look really great 🙂 Thanks for sharing & happy reading.

Love the cover for ‘The Daylight War ‘ makes me want to read all the books in series. 😀 And so many trailers…. And they are all beautiful. I didn’t even see the one for City of Dark Magic by Magnus Flyte. I am reading that book right now. It’s so intriguing and funny in a weird way more magical realism than fantasy so far… You got some nice new books – happy reading!
