Welcome to Stocktake Saturday! This feature is where I share some bookish news with you and then show you all the bookish goodies I got over the week.
The cover reveals from the last week – (links to Goodreads pages)
- Chasing Before (The Memory Chronicles #2) by Lenore Appelhans – is her eye closed?

In Bookish News, Jennifer L. Armentrout has announced the title of the fifth and final book of LUX series. Opposition will be available in mid-2014. There’s also a sneak peek at the first page of the Opposition on JLA’s site, and an uber-giveaway (INTL) on JLA’s website, so I suggest you hightail it over there!
The first trailer for the Divergent movie has been released. Oh, I am so excited. Watch it here.
I forgot to mention last week that the amazing, hilarious and clever web-series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, which is based on Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, has won an Emmy. I can’t wait for my DVDs to arrive in the mail 😀
I also forgot to mention that the wonderfully talented from Marianne de Pierres has signed on at Angry Robot for two “genre-busting” books. The first of this two-book series, Peacemaker, will be released in May 2014, and the as-yet-untitled sequel will follow in 2015.
Did you know there are plans in the works for a Book Expo Australia?? I didn’t, until just a few days ago – it’s going to be held in August 2014 in Sydney. More details here.
This week I’ve been Waiting on … Rebel Spring by Morgan Rhodes. Look out next week for a giveaway of The Returned by Jason Mott starting this week – I’ll be giving away two copies! I also wrote a post on my take on the author-reviewer relationship – it was motivated by all the negativity I’ve across in recent times – with authors and reviewers not really getting along – and I just really wanted to talk about how amazing the authors and publicists I know have been.

My book hauls, beginning as usual with the physical copies, thanks to HarperCollins AU and Hachette AU (links to Goodreads):
- Split Second (Pivot Point #2) by Kasie West
- Fugitive X (Revolution 19 #2) by Gregg Rosenblum
- Ashes to Ashes by Melissa Walker
- Shaman by Kim Stanley Robinson

And e-galleys from Netgalley and Edelweiss:
- A Clockwork Heart (The Chronicles of Light and Shadow #2) by Liesel Schwarz – Random House UK
- The High Druid’s Blade (The Defenders of Shannara #1) by Terry Brooks – Random House (Del Ray)

Last time I was two books ahead in my Read Three, Buy One scheme, and this week my husband very kindly bought me hardcover editions of the Grisha books because I said I wanted them. I already have both books in a single volume – a special print the publisher did for reviewers. So they don’t count as books added to the to-read pile.
- Shadow and Bone (The Grisha #1) by Leigh Bardugo
- Siege and Storm (The Grisha #2) by Leigh Bardugo

I reviewed the following books this week:
Which leaves me 4 books ahead and with one book purchase unlocked. But I’ve already ‘spent’ it, I think (haha!)
I hope you have some goodies to share as well, leave your links below and I’ll be sure to visit 🙂
Happy Reading!

Oh man, Book Expo? So many cool things happening in Aus next year when I won’t be there :-/

You’re so lucky to have Book Expo, here in Europe nothing interesting happens regarding books. I guess I’ll have to come to Australia, I always wanted to visit (or live there :P). Nice haul, I may request for Clockwork Heart, but I already have a few galleys to read in September. I’m very interested in this series though! And I can’t wait to start Shadow and Bone.
Happy reading! 🙂

I can’t wait for Chasing Before, and I loved both Grisha books! I’m pretty curious about what’s going to happen in Split Second and I’m definitely high anticipating that one!

Hey, me again 🙂
I tagged you for Liebster Award. You don’t need to do this if you don’t want to, but I hope you don’t mind. See my post here.
